Easter Camp 2026  Early Bird Tickets out now!

December 7th - 13th

Nearly finished high school or in your first few years out of high school? Looking for a place to grow in your faith? Wanting to find a community of like minded followers of Christ who surf and love adventure? Then New Swell is for you!

New Swell is the highlight of many people's year. It's a week filled with fun and adventure. A week of training where students from all around the country are welcomed as up and coming leaders to be poured into and encouraged. We have two running simultaneously, one in the beautiful Mahia Peninsula and one in Kaikoura. This week is full of surfing, adventure, devotionals, worship, shared meals, hanging out and building friendships and we would love for you to join us!

Regos Close: Sunday 30th November (one week prior) unless the spots fill up sooner

New Swell Mahia is a week-long surf camp for young people aged 16–21, packed with epic waves, great food, and an awesome crew. This year’s camp runs from December 7–13, based at Camp Quodesh in Mahia. The week is fully catered, so just bring your bedding, surf gear, and stoked attitude.
We’ve got an incredible team of 8–10 volunteer leaders from across Aotearoa who are passionate about surfing and seeing young people grow in their faith.
If you’re coming from Tauranga, we’ll be leaving from the CSALT House (2 Palm Beach Boulevard) at 8am on Sunday, December 7. Students making their own way can arrive from 1pm. We’ll wrap up and head home on Saturday, December 13, aiming to arrive back in Tauranga around 5pm.
Throughout the week, we’ll take a few day trips to make the most of the surf and weather, keeping things flexible and fun.

FAQ

I am a beginner surfer, can I still come?

Of course, this camp aims to accommodate all levels of surfers. However, please be aware that we will be surfing 1-3 times per day and some days the surf may not be within your comfort levels, you can always sit on the beach and watch if you need to. You do need to be able to swim and hold your own as this is not a learn to surf camp.

I would love to come but can’t quite afford to?

We would love to help you get to New Swell as we really believe that this camp changes lives! Please email georgia@christiansurfers.org.nz if you would like to chat about sponsorship opportunities.

Can I get a ride to camp?

We are offering rides to and from camp - for those going to New Swell Mahia there will be two vans leaving Mount Maunganui at 8am on Sunday the 7th and returning to the Mount on the 13th of December. For those going to New Swell Kaikoura there will be a van leaving from Christchurch airport around 7am. However, please let us know your flight details so that we can make sure we wait for everyone before leaving for Kaikoura. This van will also be returning students back to Christchurch airport on Saturday the 13th. Please make sure that your flights going to and from Christchurch are within these times so that we can run as smoothly as possible.
