Local Groups / Mission Visits & Training – June 2006

What an awesome opportunity to travel 2500 km, to visit 12 local groups/missions, travel through two storms and get totally stoked on Jesus with Andrew Carruthers – our Asian South Pacific Director. What a privilege it was to have Andrew with us for two weeks to hear him share his heart, share from the word, to be inspired by him and to see him Bless others, to be Blessed himself and to Bless the Boss! Andrew was able to be well utilised while in N.Z, not only sharing in small groups but also managing to preach at one Church, share at another as well as form some neat friendships.

All in all, we are totally stoked to have had the use of a Kea camper, this enabled us to see what it happening up close with local groups around the North Island. A big thank you to Kea who continue to support CSNZ. In the camper we traveled from Rags, to Ham, to Auckland, to the Mount, across to Ham/Rags again, down to Taras, on to T-Bay, (Wellington), across to Napier, up through Mahia, further on up to Gizzy, then to Ohope, then to the Mount, back to Rags, to Ham again and then to Auckland to drop Andy off–whew!! Just a few K’s. Hey, and yes, we got amazing waves in Rags, T-Bay, Gizzy and Ohope. Stoked!!

We are totally blown away by the little miracles that we saw along the way, the generosity from people to give to help cover costs and the ability for God to move with so many people being so so faithful. CS crew nation-wide are continuing to give and support with their time, money and are totally committed in prayer to help see others lives transformed, relationships formed and our awesome God Blessed. Once again, I totally believe that this ministry is going places and is growing. Thank you Lord and thank you all!

I am excited to know that we are heading to the South Island in August to Visit Kaikoura Christian Surfers, we have an opportunity to talk at a Church in Christchurch and we have interest in the South Island from other areas that would like to connect while we are down there. Please pray that this would all come together as smoothly as the North Island tour did and that people would pop up knowing that they need to hear about the great work that CS is doing and that they would have a calling to come on board.

We were also stoked to be able to launch our new training manual (which complements the survival manual) this can also be found on the CSNZ website and is a great tool for local groups to use and work through to help bring out some of the issues that need to be discussed. Next time we visit local groups we are keen to talk more specifically about some of the issues that leaders face, where they are at in their walk and how are they functioning as a body with their vision and ability to impact their local surfing community. What we have achieved this time round has set in place a good solid foundation to build on.

Thanks so much to everyone again for your support, prayers, partnering, linking of arms and the ability to say yes we are on board in a cutting edge ministry to partner together to help see others lives changed! Thank you Lord that someone took the time when I was 17 to hear my story and I hope we can all soldier on to see others just as stoked.

And again, thank you to Andrew Carruthers and his family for their continual support. God Bless you all. Because of Him we can.

Foz
CSNZ Director
